Ten Ryuu Ji - Kyoto World Cultural Heritage

This week, I am going to introduce you to 'Ten Ryuu Ji'. Most of the temples in Japan only have 2 entrances, which is the main and side gates of the temple. However, 'Ten Ryuu Ji' have more than 2 entrances. The entrance that is the closest to the train station would be the main entrance. And if you took an exit through the North Gate, you will reach the entrance to the 'Bamboo Path of Arashiyama'. But, the main subject for today's topic would be 'Ten Ryuu Ji', therefore I will introduce you to the 'Bamboo forest' and 'Arashiyama Train station' if I have more time in the future.

The following are photos taken in 'Ten Ryuu Ji':

This would be the main entrance of 'Ten Ryuu Ji'.

'Sou Gen Chi' Garden
This garden would probably be the most famous spot within 'Ten Ryuu Ji'.
According to the Internet, the makers of the garden had planted different plants and trees that will bloom during different seasons around the garden. Which also means that you can have a peek at how beautiful the garden will look like as the season changes.

These photos were also taken in the compound of 'Ten Ryuu Ji'.

If you want to visit 'Ten Ryuu Ji', you probably might want to pay a visit to the Temple during Spring or Autumn. This is because the temple will open their doors to visitors during Spring or Autumn allowing them to gain access to the decorative painting of a dragon on the ceiling of one of the buildings inside 'Ten Ryuu Ji'.
(Actually, I haven't seen the painting before. But according to various resources, the painting on the ceiling seems to be pretty Cool.

To Ji - Kyoto World Cultural Heritage

A lot of Pagodas was built in the City of Kyoto. For example, Yasaka Pagoda situated in Higashi Yama, there's a Pagoda in temples like Daigo Ji and Ninna Ji... etc. However, the most famous Pagoda in Kyoto should be the Pagoda situated within the compound of 'To Ji'.

The following are photos taken in 'To Ji':
The Pagoda was probably the most famous structure that was built in 'To Ji'.
Why do I say so?
This is because the Pagoda itself was 55 metres in height and at the same time was currently holding the position of being the highest architecture built by wood within Japan.
(Whahahaha.... I managed to step into the Pagoda during my visit to 'To Ji' back then.
The view within the Pagoda was spectacular.
However, I was pretty disappointed that photo taking wasn't allowed inside.)

'Fu Ni Sakura'
When I was making my way to 'To Ji', the Sakura flower haven't started blooming.
However, looking at the size of the Sakura tree,
the sight will definitely be a magnificent one when the flowers started blooming.

During the 21st of every month, a flea market known as 'Gu Ho Shi' will be held within the compound of 'To Ji'. Most of the stalls will operate from 8am in the morning to 4pm in the afternoon. There are more than 700 stalls within 'Gu Ho Shi'. Things that you can buy here includes items like daily accessories, clothings, antiques, lacquerware, food... etc. The chances of asking and bargaining/getting an item at a lower price at this flea market was pretty high also. Doesn't it sounds interesting?
