足りない。。。 / Not enough...

足りないものは何ですか？それは胃の容量です。実は数ヶ月前に友達と一緒にカラオケに行って、その後食事しに行きました。。。
What is not enough? That would be the size of our stomach. Actually, we had a Karaoke session a few months ago. After that, we decided to settle our dinner at a place nearby...

最後の選択はそちです。 そのバイキングレストランの名前は「Kiseki」です。 店所は「Orchard Central」というデパートの8階です。 We ended up choosing this. The name of this 'Japanese Buffet Restaurant' would be 'Kiseki'. It's located on level 8 of 'Orchard Central'.

そこで料理の選択が多いですね。 The wide selection of food over here is worth a very big (+).

たとえば「冷やし海鮮」とか、 For example, there's 'Chilled Seafood',

「揚げ物」とか、 'fried small bites',

「デザート」とか、「果物」とか、選択がいっぱいです。 「豆乳」もありますよ！！！ 'Dessert', 'Fruits', etc... They even have 'Soy Milk' over here too.

「飲み物」さえ お茶とか、コーヒーとか、ジュースとか、 ソフトドリンクとか、選択が多いですね。 Even the 'beverages' selection over here can be pretty amazing. There's 'Tea', 'Coffee', 'Juices', 'Soft Drinks', etc...

。。。しかし、机はちょっと小さいですね。 四人に対して、机の面積が全然足りないです。 でもね、おでんとか、餃子とか、鍋とか、様々な料理がありますよ。 とにかく、料理の味があまり素晴らしくないけど、種類が多いし、 大満足です。不足の点は僕たちの胃の容量です。 もし人類は二つの胃があったら、自由に換えられて、 それは良いと思います。 ...However, the tables here are slightly a bit too small for the 4 of us. But 1 thing that I would like to compliment would be the choices over here. There's 'Oden'(Boiled ingredients served in a broth), 'Gyoza'(Dumplings), 'Hot Pot', etc... In other words, though the food over here isn't super fantastic, but there's lots of choices for you to choose, which is pretty satisfying. The biggest weakness would be the size of our stomach isn't big enough to outbeat all the different choices. Isn't it great if a human being can have 2 interchangeable stomachs, then you would have more than enough space to give all the different interesting food options out there a good try? 注：そのレストランのサービスが良いと思います。 僕たちは十時ほど水を注文して、ウエーターさんが近くのコンビに へ行って、水を買いました。それはほんまにいいサービスですね。 Note: I personally find the service of this restaurant to be pretty good. When we were placing an order for a glasses of water after 10pm, the waiter actually went down and bought us bottles of water for free, which is a pretty rare sight nowadays.

餃子屋 / Gyoza Ya

先日、偶然餃子を食べたいです。だから、早速にネットに様々な餃子屋を探して、やっと決まりました。そして、その店に出発に行きました。
I suddenly have the urge for 'Gyoza' the other day, therefore I started searching for good 'Gyoza' options in Singapore. I immediately set off for the place once I have decided on the restaurant.

'Jya Jya Noodles'(じゃじゃ麺) 外観と中華料理の「ジャージアンミエン」がだいたい同じと思います。 皿に平たいきしめんとキュウリと葱と肉味噌があります。 The appearance of this dish looks pretty similar to the Chinese Noodles, 'Zha Jiang Mian'(炸醤麺). Within that small little bowl, there's the flat and thick Japanese Noodles, 'Somen', 'Cucumber Stripes', 'Spring Onions' and most importantly the meaty 'Miso paste'.

その店に「じゃじゃ麺」のおいしい食べ方がよく説明しました。 英語の説明もありますよ。+｡ﾟ(･∀･)ﾟ｡+ﾟｲｲ!!ですね。 The restaurant has also prepared an illustration showing the steps to enjoy a good bowl of 'Jya Jya Noodles'. And it's written in both English and Japanese. さあああ。。。Ψ(*･∀･*)Ψｨﾀﾀﾞｷﾏｼｭ♪。 外観以外、味もだいたい同じです。シコシコ麺と肉味噌のコンビが美味しいです。 その上、キュウリの味がいいと思います。しかし、キュウリがちょっと薄くて、 カリカリの質感を無くしていました。残念ですね。 Besides for the appearance, the taste of the Noodles are pretty much similar to the 'Zha Jiang Mian' too. As you mix the chewy Noodles and the meaty paste together, the overall dish becomes pretty tasty. On top of that, I loved the chill sensation of the stripes of Cucumber. However, since the stripes of Cucumber are pretty thin, therefore it has lost the crunchy touch, which is kinda disappointing.

これは説明によって、少々遊んだ（？）後の結果です。 これとこってりラーメンがだいたい同じです。 味と質感も凄いですね。でもね、本物に比べて、やはりラーメンがもって美味いです。 The would be the outcome, after spending a bit of time playing along with the illustration. It's pretty much similar to a bowl of Japanese Ramen that comes with a thick broth. Though the taste and the texture of the Noodles remains to be pretty good, but frankly speaking, I still prefer a bowl of Japanese Ramen much much more. :D

'Gyoza'(餃子) その店の一番人気の料理です。 ここで色々な水餃子と焼き餃子もありますよ。 そして、時々は特別の餃子を作って、販売します。 例えば、先月蟹の餃子をロールアウトしました。 This would be the signatures of this restaurant. Besides for Boiled Dumplings, they are preparing and selling Pan-Fried Dumplings over here too. Best of all, from time to time, they would be releasing limited editions 'Gyoza' too. For example, they have released Pan- Fried Red King Crab Dumplings for the month of September. :D

'Yaki Azuki Gyoza'(焼き小豆餃子) 確かに餃子の形があり、味が甘いけれど、あまり美味しくないです。 理由は餃子一番大切のカリカリ質感を無くされていました。ﾔﾀﾞ(´；д；｀)ﾔﾀﾞです。 Yes, indeed. These Red Bean Dumplings do comes in the shape of a dumpling and it's pretty sweet but these dumplings ain't good enough. This is mainly due to the fact that these Dumplings ain't crunchy enough, which is a big disappointment. :(

'Pan Fried Dumpling with Pork'(焼き餃子(豚)) これと前の餃子に比べて、これが最高です。野菜と肉の比例といい、カリカリ質感 といい、味が素敵です。 As compared to the previous plate of Dumplings, this is amazingly good. There's a nice balance in the use of the meaty ingredients and the vegetables. On top of that, it has this crunchy sensation which is a must have for 'Pan-Fried Dumplings'.

そのレストランの名前は「餃子屋」です。 そこは「Robinsons Orchard」の地下１階です。 The name of this restaurant would be 'Gyoza Ya'. It's located on basement 1 of 'Robinsons Orchard'.

冨士さんを食べられます。。。？ / A Mount Fuji that can be eaten....?

数週間前に、日本の冨士さんを征服しました。しかし、実は数ヶ月前に、他の冨士さん（？）を征服していました。それは。。。
I managed to conquer Mount Fuji a few weeks ago. However, that isn't the first Mount Fuji that I have conquered. The first Mount Fuji that I have conquered a few months back was...

'Mount Fuji'(冨士さん) これは誰も征服できる冨士さんです。:P 上の茶色クリームは栗（秋）味のクリームです。 真ん中は、普通のクリームと何ピースのチョコシフォンケーキと栗があります。 これ前に、栗味のケーキを食べたことがありません。だから、これは初体験です。 ムシャムシャ。。。ムシャムシャ。。。ムシャムシャ。。。 質感といい、味（苦いと甘いのコンビ）といい、おいしいケーキです。 This would be a Mount Fuji that anyone can conquer. The top is covered with a brown colored chestnut flavored cream. The base is made out of a few slices of chocolate Chiffon Cake, chestnut and cream. In fact, this would my first go with a 'Chestnut flavored Cake'. Mumching... Munching... Munching... The overall texture is pretty good and on top of that the nice mix of both bitter and sweet taste just makes it better and better. もし冨士さんを征服の勇気がなかったら、この店でもっと簡単のチャレンジがあります。 挑戦しなければなりません。。。 If you don't have the courage to climb 'Mount Fuji', you can always give the challenge over here a try first. :D

'LUNA WRAP (MANGO)'(ルナラップ(マンゴー)) 外層がふわふわのパンケーキがあります。内層がマンゴとクリームがあります。 味がおいしいし甘いけれど、サイズと値段はちょっと。。。 これより「冨士さん」のほうがすばらしいです。 This is wrapped in a fluffy layer of pancake and filled with mangoes and cream. It's pretty sweet and tasty, but the price and the size of this is kinda... In fact, I personally find the 'Mount Fuji' far more interesting than this.

冨士さんの征服方法 / How to conquer Mt. Fuji.

このポストの目的は初級者に冨士さんの征服方法を紹介します。実は、富士山に登る前に、他の山を登ったことがありません。だから、登る経験を皆さんにシェアしたいです。
This post is meant for newbies like me that wants/wishes to conquer Mount Fuji. I have absolutely no experience in mountain climbing before I climb Mount Fuji, therefore I would like to share my experience with everyone out there.

冨士さん一般の登るシーズンは七月中旬から八月末までです。 だから登る前の数ヶ月前に、適宜の登るパッケージを探しなければなりません。 The best season to climb Mount Fuji starts from the mid of July all the way to the end of August. Therefore, before you start your journey, it will be strongly recommended that you would secure a package that sends you all the way to the mid of Mount Fuji first. 僕たちはロイヤルホリデーのパッケージを利用しています。 これはロイヤルホリデーのHPです。 （ここにいろいろな日本語と英語のパッケージがあります。） For our case, we have signed up for the packages by 'Royal Holiday'. (Click here for the packages that they are offering for the trip to Mount Fuji.) パッケージの内容は午前八時、東京・新宿センタービル南側前バスを乗って、 冨士さん・吉田登山口に出発行きます。そして、冨士さんの八階の山小屋一泊して、 朝日を見るために朝から山頂に出発行きます。次の日吉田登山口に戻って、 バスを乗って、温泉へ行って、東京・新宿に戻ります。 The following would be the details of our package. We will be hopping on the bus departing 'Tokyo', 'Shinjuku Center Building' at 8am in the morning and we will get off at the Yoshida Trail, which is based at the fifth station of the Fuji-Subaru Line. And we will start climbing all the way up. We will be staying, eating and sleeping in the mountain hut on the 8th station for a few hours, before moving on to the mountain peak. After that, we will descend to the 5th station and hop on the bus that will be stopping at a 'Onsen' for a few hours, before the final destination, which is 'Tokyo', 'Shinjuku Center Building'. 登山装備なしの場合： 以下のサイトをご利用して、色々な装備を借りれます。 KOBE OUTDOOR（日本語） Fuji Mountain Guides （英語） やまどうぐレンタル屋（日本語） 僕はこちを利用して、色々な装備を借ります。 感想：便利です。新宿の店で装備をピックアップして、 冨士さん五階で返却できます。 僕は以下の装備を借りました。 選べる3点セット（雨具+ザック+シューズ） 防寒着（フリース） ヘッドランプ If you don't have mountain gear(like me): You probably want to make good use of the following websites. KOBE OUTDOOR（In Japanese） Fuji Mountain Guides （In English） Yamadougu Rental House（In Japanese） I'm using this website to get all the hiking equipment. I personally find this pretty convenient since I can pickup all the equipment from their outlet at 'Tokyo', 'Shinjuku' and drop them off at the 5th station of Mount Fuji. And I have borrowed the following items. 3 Piece Set（Raincoat+Bag+Shoes） Fleece Head Lamp

登り方法：一つだけ。 それは人の足跡をゆっくり辿って、山頂に到着できます。 How to climb all the way up? There's only one way to get you to the top, and it's pretty easy. Just follow the footsteps of the person or group of people in front of you. And you would gradually reach the top of the mountain. 注意： 人によって、装備が違います。 とにかく、充分な食べ物と飲み物が必要です。 その上、予測不能の天気の対応方法が必要です。 もし高所恐怖症があったら、ストックを準備したほうがいいです。 何で？降りる道は滑り易いです、だから。。。 僕は軽微の高所恐怖症があり、だから降りた時、 あたかもよし友達がストックを借りって、五回目に戻れます。 Things to take note: Depending on the individual, the equipment that you need to bring varies. However, one must bring sufficient food and drinks. On top of that, be prepared to handle any sudden change in the weather. If you have the fear of heights, you probably want to prepare a pair of trekking sticks too. As for the reason why, well as you descend the mountain the slope is pretty rocky and slippery. Therefore... Luckily, one of my friends lend me one of his trekking sticks, otherwise I might still be up in the mountains now...
