A lot of Pagodas was built in the City of Kyoto. For example, Yasaka Pagoda situated in Higashi Yama, there's a Pagoda in temples like Daigo Ji and Ninna Ji... etc. However, the most famous Pagoda in Kyoto should be the Pagoda situated within the compound of 'To Ji'.
The following are photos taken in 'To Ji':
The Pagoda was probably the most famous structure that was built in 'To Ji'. Why do I say so? This is because the Pagoda itself was 55 metres in height and at the same time was currently holding the position of being the highest architecture built by wood within Japan. (Whahahaha.... I managed to step into the Pagoda during my visit to 'To Ji' back then. The view within the Pagoda was spectacular. However, I was pretty disappointed that photo taking wasn't allowed inside.) |
'Fu Ni Sakura' When I was making my way to 'To Ji', the Sakura flower haven't started blooming. However, looking at the size of the Sakura tree, the sight will definitely be a magnificent one when the flowers started blooming. |

During the 21st of every month, a flea market known as 'Gu Ho Shi' will be held within the compound of 'To Ji'. Most of the stalls will operate from 8am in the morning to 4pm in the afternoon. There are more than 700 stalls within 'Gu Ho Shi'. Things that you can buy here includes items like daily accessories, clothings, antiques, lacquerware, food... etc. The chances of asking and bargaining/getting an item at a lower price at this flea market was pretty high also. Doesn't it sounds interesting? |
