2013年最後の相撲大会（コンテスト） / The last Sumo Wrestling Tournament of the year 2013(Contest)

先月福岡へ行って、今年最後の相撲大会に行ってきました。ﾟ+｡ﾟ(･∀･)ﾟ｡+ﾟｲｲ!!
I went to Fukuoka, Japan last month and I managed to grab myself a ticket to the last season of Sumo Wrestling Tournament for the year 2013.

たくさん写真を取りました。 その上。。。 I have taken lots of photos throughout the day. Furthermore...

ビデオもいっぱいですね。。。 Lots of videos too... 実は色々な相撲関係がある資料 （写真とか、映画とか。。。）が見たことがあります。 でも、近距離でお相撲さんを見て、これは初体験です。 やはり、お相撲さんの体格がすごいと思います。 しかし、その世界で、壮大な体格が全てじゃないですね。 時々お相撲さんが軽快な動作を利用して、壮大の相手を倒していました。 面白いですね。。。 壮大な体格があり、軽快な動作があり、ほんとにびっくりですね。 （象みたいな体格、余裕で空を飛んで、不思議ですね。） Actually I have seen numerous Sumo-related materials(Ex: Photos, movies, etc) before but this would be my first encounter with a genuine Sumo wrestler. The size of these Sumo wrestler are amazing. However, in the world of Sumo Wrestling, size isn't everything. You are getting numerous matches where the smaller Sumo Wrestlers are using their swift movement to outbeat the bigger Sumo Wrestlers, which makes it pretty interesting. Just by taking a look at the size of them, their swift movement can really amaze anyone. (Just imagine this, how often do you get to see a flying elephant?) でも、相撲大会よりもっと不思議の事実は。。。 But, as compared to the Sumo Wrestling Tournament itself, there's this one other thing that amazes me even much more....

映画：藁の盾 / Movie: Shield Of Straw

犯人を守るために、全国民に対抗する覚悟がありますか？

「藁の盾」のポスター Poster of the movie 'Shield Of Straw' これは同名小説を基にした映画です。 政財界の大物は復讐のために、 「犯人を殺して、10億円を払う」という広告に掲載されました。 だから賞金10億円のために、全国民は狂っていました。 それで、犯人を守るために、警察は全国民に対抗しなければなりません。 その上、警察とか、看護士とか、誰も敵に成った可能性があります。 This movie is based on the novel titled 'Shield of Straw'. In order to seek revenge, an important person of the political circle has put up a death notice which is worth one billion yen. Therefore for the sake of the appealing prize money, the whole nation has gone all out trying to track down and murder the criminal. Therefore, it ended up to be a group of policemen going against the entire country sorta situation. Furthermore, even the people around you, can turn against you within the next second... 結局：一番許せない人は誰ですか？ 犯人ですか？犯人に守られた警察ですか？ 賞金10億円のために、狂われた全国民ですか？ 広告に掲載された政財界の大物ですか？ じゃ、皆さんこの質問を少々考えてください。 Therefore at the end of the day, who do you think has committed the most unforgivable mistake at the end of the day? Is it the criminal? Or is it the Policemen that have been protecting the criminal? Or is it the civilians that are trying to kill the criminal for the sake of one billion dollars? Or is it the important person of the political circle, who is trying to seek revenge. Well, this would be a good question that is worth giving a thought. :)

まる玉ダイニング / Marutama Dining

僕は「まる玉ラーメン」が一番大好きです。だから、二週間前「まる玉ダイニング」へ晩御飯を食べに行きました。
'Marutama Ramen' is my favourite Ramen in Singapore. Therefore, I decided to have my dinner at 'Marutam Dining' 2 weeks ago.

昔の「まる玉ラーメン」の料理の品数が少ないです。 でも「まる玉ダイニング」の料理の品数が多いですね。 カレーライスとか、鍋料理とか、様々な料理があります。 「蝦ラーメン」 これは僕の晩御飯です。 「蝦ラーメン」と言って、実は普通の「まる玉ラーメン」の上で、 レモンと蝦を付け加えます。 このラーメンは他のスープが選べません。残念ですね。 The selections at "Marutama Ramen" used to be pretty limited back then. But, they have a bigger variety of food over here. They even have 'Curry Rice', 'Hot Pot', etc... 'Ebi(Prawn) Ramen' Even though it's known as 'Ebi Ramen', but it's actually the original 'Marutama Ramen' topped with a few prawns and a slice of lemon. Note: the soup base of this Ramen couldn't be changed.

レモンスクイーズして、普通のスープの味は甘し、酸くなっていました。 麺といい、味付けたまごといい、そのラーメンのレベルが高いです。 しかし。。。 After squeezing the lemon, the taste of the soup becomes both sweet and sour. And I still couldn't resist the delicious noodles and flavoured egg that they are offering over here. However...

蝦が似合わないです。 蝦が新鮮だけど、スープと一緒に食べると味がまずくなっています。 僕にとって、「蝦ラーメン」より「生からしラーメン」の方が美味いです。 The prawns aren't suitable. Although the prawns are pretty fresh, but when I have it with the prawns, the taste ended up becoming pretty weird. Well at the end of the day I still prefer the 'Nama Karashi Ramen'(Ramen with Spicy Chicken Broth).

しゃぶしゃぶ / Shabu Shabu

僕は「Steamboat」という料理が大好きです。その料理と日本の「しゃぶしゃぶ」がだいたい同じです。大きい鍋に様々な材料を入れて、炊きます。実はね、僕は数年前から、メイドの「しゃぶしゃぶ」レストランで来た後、日本の「しゃぶしゃぶ」が好きになっていました。今日は他の「しゃぶしゃぶ」レストランを紹介します。
I love to eat steamboat and it is pretty much similar to the Infamous Japanese dish 'Shabu Shabu'. In fact, my passion for 'Shabu Shabu' have grown ever since I have eaten 'Shabu Shabu' at this Japanese Maid restaurant back then. And 'Shabu Shabu' will be the main topic today. :D

寿司 このレストランで小さい鰻丼と寿司バーがあります。 僕はそこの鰻丼を食べてみました。 碗に少しご飯と鰻と卵とキュウリがあり、それは 暑い天気のとても人気の薬/料理です。ｲｲﾈ♪d('∀'ｏ) 'Sushi' They have set aside this small little corner for 'Sushi' and dishes like mini 'Japanese Eel Rice Bowl'. I have given the mini 'Rice Bowl' a try and by adding ingredients like 'Japanese Eel', 'Egg' and Cucumbers inside the rice bowl, this is definitely one of the best antidoteｓ/dishes for a crazily hot day.

なぜ僕は日本の「しゃぶしゃぶ」が好きですか？ 理由の一つは「肉が薄い」です。 このレストランで、客様が牛肉や豚肉や鶏肉を注文した後、 ウェイターが黒いトレイをもらいます。 それにたくさん薄い肉があります。 厚い肉より薄い肉の調理時間がもっと短いです。 それで、浪費せずに、たくさん肉を食べられます。 その上、色々なソースと一緒に食べます。 好きなコンビを探します。(∩´∀｀)∩ｽﾝﾊﾞﾗｽｨ♪ So why do I love 'Shabu Shabu'? One of the main reasons will be the thin slices of meat. After you place your orders for 'Beef', 'Pork' and 'Chicken', the waiter will pass you trays of sliced thin meat. So what's so great about the thin slices of meat? Well basically, the time required to cook the meat is pretty short and you can reduce the amount of food wastage and eat more meat. Furthermore, you can also mix and match all the various types of sauces and formulate one that can really fit the taste of the meat best.

肉以外、様々な材料もあります。 野菜とか、麺とか、シーフードとか、様々な選択があります。 自分の特別の「野菜シーフードスペシャルラーメン」を作れます。 ワァ──o(｡´･∀･｀｡)o──ィ♪ （しかし、肉の選択が少ないです。 羊肉とか、魚肉とか、他の肉が欲しいです。） Besides for meat, they also have several other types of ingredients too. There's vegetables, noodles and all sorts of seafood. In fact, you can create your own type of 'Special Vegetables Seafood Ramen'. (However, it would be great if they can throw in several other types types of meat like 'Mutton', 'Fish', etc... )

先日、「豚骨」スープ（左）と 季節限定の「あさり鶏」スープ（右）を選んでいました。。。 ごめんなさい。鹹い「豚骨」スープの元の色は黄色です。 しかし、たくさん牛肉を入れた後。。。茶色になりました。 でもね、「あさり鶏」スープは濃い鶏油に付けて、 あさりの香りがあって、超美味いです。 ここで「カレーチキン」スープとか、「すきやき」スープとか、 「トマト」スープとか、色々なスープがあります。 We have chosen the 'Pork Bone Broth'(left) and the 'Clams + Chicken Broth'(Right) that day.By the way, the 'Pork Bone Broth' started off with a yellowish colour but after adding a massive slices of 'Beef' it ended up to be 'Brownish'. As for the 'Clams + Chicken Broth', it comes with a thick layer of chicken oil and the nice fragrance of clams, which makes it very yummy. They also have soups like 'Curry Chicken', 'Sukiyaki' and even 'Tomato' over here too.

ここで涼しいアイスクリームもあります。 これはここでたくさん熱い材料を食べた後、 一番人気の「薬」です。ｷﾗ――( ☆ω☆)――ﾝ They also provide 'Ice Cream' over here too. After all that eating, this would definitely works as a great antidote. :P

このレストランの名前は「しゃぶ菜」です。 以上は「Orchard Central」というデパートの八階の支店の外観です。 The name of this restaurant would be 'Shabu Sai'. They have a branch located on level 8 of 'Orchard Central'.

顔文字 / Kaomoji

皆さん、顔文字（かおもじ）を利用したことがありますか？好き━━━(っ'∀｀c)━━━━!!ですか？しかし、一つ一つコピー&ペーストちょっとめんどくさいです。実はね、もしWindowsパソコンがあったら、顔文字を設定できます。この方法はコピー&ペーストよりもっと便利ですね。（Macパソコンも設定できます。しかし、今はMacパソコンがありません。）
Have you used the Japanese Kaomoji(face characters) before? Do you like it? However, if you are going to copy and paste each and every one of them, that's going to be pretty troublesome. But, if you have a Windows PC, you can actually configure it and it is definitely much more faster than the usual Copy and Pasting method. (You can also apply it to a Mac PC, but I don't own one now.)

1) このファイルをダウンロードしなければなりません。 1) First of all, you will have to download the file over here.

2) 「Microsoft Japanese IME」 を　チェンジします。 2) You will have to change to the 「Microsoft Japanese IME」 keyboard.

3) 三角形のボタンをクリックして、「Show the Language bar」ボタンをクリックします。 3) Click on the triangular button, follow by the step of clicking on the 「Show the Language bar」 button.

4) その後、「Tools」ボタンをクリックして、「Dictionary Tool」ボタンをクリックします。 4) After that, click on the 「Tools」 button, follow by the step of clicking on the「Dictionary Tool」 button.

5) 「Microsoft IME Dictionary Tool」を起動します。 5) This will open up the 「Microsoft IME Dictionary Tool」 software.

8) 全ての資料を輸入した後、「Exit」ボタンをクリックします。 8) Click on the 「Exit」 button, after all the data have been imported successfully.

大成功！！！ 今から「Microsoft Japanese IME」を利用して、 「いい」をタイプして、様々な顔文字の選択があります。(・∀・)ｲｲﾈ!! Congratulations!!! You have imported all the data successfully. From today onwards, while typing the Japanese characters 「いい」(Good) using the 「Microsoft Japanese IME」 keyboard, all sorts of Japanese Kaomoji(face characters) options will be given to you too. Isn't that great? :D

どっちが本格的な烏城？/ Which is the real Crow Castle?

日本に様々な城があります。僕は観光のために、たくさん城は行ったことがありました。城に武具とか、刃物とか、服装とか、様々な戦国時代の物が供覧していました。じゃ、「松本城」と「岡山城」どっちが本格的な烏城ですか？
There are many different types of castle in Japan. And since you don't really get them in Singapore, therefore I decided to visit some of them when I'm travelling in Japan. They have put a lot of interesting artefacts on display in the castles. It can be artefacts like a piece of Japanese armor, weapons from the different periods of Japan, etc... But, which one do you think is the 'Crow Castle'? Is it 'Matsumoto Castle' or 'Okayama Castle'?

解答は二つも本格的な「烏城」です。しかし、 In actual fact, both castles are also known as the 'Crow Castle'. However...
「松本城」の別称は 「烏城（からすじょう）」です。 'Matsumoto Castle' is also known as the 'Crow Castle'(Karasu Jou).	「岡山城」の別称は 「烏城（うじょう）」です。 'Okayama Castle' is also known as the 'Crow Castle'(U Jou).
注意よ、漢字がだいたい同じですが、読み方が全然違います。 実はね、日本に黒い城がとても珍しいです。 その上、漢字がだいたい同じな城がもっと珍しいです。 それが面白いと思います。 Take note, although they are known as the 'Crow Castle' and the Japanese Kanji might appear to be the same, but the pronunciation are completely different. In fact, castle in black are pretty rare in Japan and on top of that, castle written using the same Kanji are even much more rare. Therefore, I personally find the castles in Japan to be pretty interesting.

二人のラブラブラーメン？ / Ramen for a couple?

二人のラーメンはどんなラーメンですか？僕にとって、それは分量が多くて、二人で分け合えます。だから、今日はシンガポールに二人のラーメンを紹介します。
What kind of Ramen would be suitable for a couple? That would most likely be a bowl of Ramen that comes with a generous portion that can share among the 2 of them. And that will be the main subject of this post.

そのラーメン屋の内装と他のラーメン屋が大体同じです。しかし。。。 The interior of this Ramen place is pretty much similar to the other Ramen place elsewhere.

天井に色々な古いポスターを張りました。 The ceiling of this place has been decorated with all these old Japanese posters.

先日、そのラーメン屋の一番人気の「火山ラーメン」を注文していました。 I ended up placing an order for the infamous 'Volcano Ramen' of this place a few days ago.

テーブルの上で「火山ラーメン」の旨い食べ方が詳しくて、置きました。 They have laid a card on each of the table. On the card itself, it have clearly indicated the steps of preparing and cooking a delicious bowl of 'Volcano Ramen'.

以上は「火山カレーラーメン」の様子です。 それにたくさん野菜とチャーシューと麺を入れていました。 さすがに日本カレーですね。スープの味が甘いです。 カレーの味がすべての材料を流入しました。僕が大好きです。 その上、そこで細い麺を利用して、 麺の質感と味とカレーが意外に適合です。素晴らしいですね。 もう一ついい点があります。そのラーメンの容器は石焼碗です。 普通の碗より石焼碗は料理の高温が長い間保存できますよ。 すごいですね。 The above shows the 'Volcano Ramen' that I have ordered. The chef has added lots of vegetables, slices of barbecued pork and Japanese noodles. The chef has used sweet Japanese Curry as the soup base for this generous bowl of Ramen. The taste of the Curry have blended into all the ingredients nicely. Furthermore, they have used the thinner type of Japanese Noodles over here, which really fit into with the taste of the Japanese Curry nicely. Best of all would be the bowl that they have chosen to serve the 'Volcano Ramen'. Rather than using a normal bowl, they have chosen a 'stone bowl' to serve the 'Ramen'. The 'stone bowl' not only acts as a beautiful visual element for a 'Volcano', it can also keep the food hot for a much more longer period of time. Interesting huh?

あそこのチャーシューが厚いし、旨いですね。 By the way, the barbecued pork that they are serving over here are not only thick, it's pretty delicious too.

その「火山ラーメン」はご飯に付けます。 僕はご飯とカレーのコンビが大好きです。 （実はね、そこで四種類の「火山ラーメン」があります。 それは「カレー」、「醤油」、「塩」と「味噌」です。 カレーが好きな僕は「カレー」を選んでます。:P） By the way, the 'Volcano Ramen' also comes with a bowl of Rice. And I just couldn't resist the temptation of a delicious bowl of rice topped with lots of curry. (By the way, they are serving 'Volcano Ramen' with 4 different types of soup base over here. There's 'Curry', 'Soy Sauce', 'Salt Paste' and 'Miso'. Being a big fan of 'Curry' I will definitely place an order for the 'Volcano Ramen' with 'Curry' soup base. :D)

テーブルの上で大蒜とか、醤油とか、 様々なシーズニングを提供して、優しいですね。 By the way, they have also provided various type of seasoning too. There's 'garlic', 'soy sauce', etc...

ビアードパパのシュー / Cream Puff from Beard Papa

シンガポールに様々なパンを食べたことがあります。しかし、先週までシンガポールに美味いシューを食べていませんでした。シンガポールのシューは色々な悪い点があると思います。例えばシューの表面は軟らかいとカスタードクリームの分量は一般の問題です。しかし。。。
I have eaten all sorts of pastry in Singapore. However, up till last weekend, I have yet come across a delicious 'Cream Puff' in Singapore. In fact, most of the 'Cream Puff' in Singapore have a few major weaknesses. For a start, the texture of the 'Cream Puff' is either too soft or the amount of filling that was insert into the 'Cream Puff' aren't satisfying enough. However...

「マンゴーヨーグルトシュー」 先日、普通のシューと「マンゴーヨーグルトシュー」が買いました。 冷蔵庫から取り出した「マンゴーヨーグルトシュー」が最高です。 表面はサックリ、中はもちもち、バターの香ばしさが漂います。いいね。 真ん中の甘い清々しい「マンゴーヨーグルトのクリーム」がとても美味いです。 実はね、日本旅行に行った時、ビアードパパのシューを食べたことがあります。 こことそこの販売方法が大体同じです。 お客様は普通のシューを注文した後、店員は大量の甘いクリームをシューに注射します。 つまり、シューに新鮮のクリームがありますよ。 僕はそのシューを食べた時、幸せと思います。 'Mango Yogurt Cream Puff' I have bought 2 'Cream Puff' the other day. One of them would be the 'Mango Yogurt Cream Puff' and the other one would be the original 'Cream Puff'. Taken out from the fridge, the taste of the 'Mango Yogurt Cream Puff' is fantastically delicious. It comes with a not so hard and not so soft texture, a fluffy interior topped with a nice aroma of 'Butter'. As for the filling inside, the sweet and refreshing 'Mango Yogurt' is delicious and cooling. In fact, I have eaten the 'Cream Puffs' of 'Beard Papa' as I was travelling in Japan back then. The way that they are selling the 'Cream Puff' over here are pretty much the same as those in Japan. After a customer place an order for a 'Cream Puff', they will pick up one of them and inject a generous portion of fillings into it. In other words, you will be getting lots of fresh cream inside the 'Cream Puff' itself. There is this amazing sense of happiness, when I was savouring the nice 'Cream Puff'.

無料の前菜バイキング* / Appetizers buffet for FREE*

人間は意地汚い生物です。お腹がついた時、様々な料理も食べたいです。しかし、普通の人のお腹があまり大きくないです。だから、もし。。。
We, human beings are the greediest species on earth. Despite of the size of our stomach, when we are hungry, we will feel like eating different types of food. Therefore, it would be great if we can try a large variety of food at one go.

そのレストランで無料の前菜バイキング*がありますよ。 蕎麦とか、たこ焼きとか、茶碗蒸しとか、様々な前菜もありますよ。 確かに無料の前菜の味は普通です。 しかし、美味い前菜もありますよ。 あそこの「オニオンステーキ」（左上1）が美味しいと思います。 カリカリの揚げ「オニオン」の上で、辛い材料を置いて、 味と質感が最高です。 もし無料の前菜バイキングを食べたかったら、 条件を満たさなければなりません。 条件はそのレストランの和食セットは一人に一つずつ 注文しなければなりません。 At this restaurant, you can give the Appetizers buffet a try for FREE*. It includes japanese dishes like 'Soba', 'Takoyaki', 'Chawanmushi', etc. Since it's free, the taste of most of the appetizers are pretty normal. However, there are some exceptions too. I personally find the 'Onion Steak' (Image on the top left hand corner) to be exceptionally good. The chefs have added some spicy touch to the fried crunchy onion slices. The overall taste and the texture of the onion slices are pretty good and interesting. By the way, if you really want to give the Appetizers buffet a try, there is this simple condition that you would have to fulfill. The condition requires each customer to place an order for a Japanese Set Meal, isn't that simple and easy? :P

Therefore, I ended up placing an order for this the other day. The delicious taste that you are getting when you mix all the 3 main ingredients(Eel, clams and cucumber) together are fantastically good. The crunchy cucumber and the fresh ingredients are something that one could really look forward to. (By the way, most of the set Meal at this restaurant are within the price range of $10 - $30.)

映画：２１世紀のヒーロー。。。/ Movie: Super Hero of the 21th Century...

今の時代は、優しい人か、正義感が強い人か、どんな人がヒーローですか？最近、シンガポールの映画館でヒーローの映画を見ました。その映画に「２１世紀の現代、変態こそ正義である」と言いました。まさか、それは事実ですか？映画の名前は。。。
In the 21th century, what would be the characteristic of a superhero? Does he needs to be a gentleman or does he needs to be a guy with a strong sense of justice? In fact, I have watched a superhero movie a few days ago. And in the movie itself, it has mentioned that one needs to be a pervert in order to fight for justice. And does it really apply in the 21th century? By the way, the name of the movie would be...

「変態仮面」です。 これは漫画の原作に基づいた映画作品です。 お父さんは刑事、お母さんはSM女王の高校生・色丞狂介は 正義のヒーロー・「変態仮面」です。 その人は女性用パンティを被ってしまったことがきっかけで 正義のヒーロー・「変態仮面」に目覚めます。 その人は愛と正義のために、正義のヒーローに成りました。 確かに、大部分のヒーローの映画は真面目な映画です。しかし、 この映画はとても可笑しい映画です。ヒーローの攻撃方法とか、 キャラクターの対話とか、映画に可笑しい点が多いですね。 'HK FOrbidden Super Hero'. This is a rip-off of a Japanese Manga in the 90s. Being the child of a Police detective and a SM Queen, High School Student, 'Kyousuke Shikijou', has a hidden Identity and that would be 'HK'. He has unintentionally awaken his special capabilities when he has mistaken a mask with a used ladies panties, which marks the starting point of his perverted superhero life. For the sake of love and justice, a new superhero is born... In fact, most of the superheroes movie out there are mostly movies with a serious plot. As for this movie, it's more of a pretty hilarious superhero movie than a serious movie. The way the hero performs his attack, the conversations that all the characters are making, can be pretty stupid and hilarious too.

東屋の鍋 / The steamboat at Azmaya

シンガポールに様々な料理があります。その上、四川鍋とか、「中薬」鍋とか、様々な鍋料理もあります。しかし、皆さん、珍しい日本風のカレー鍋とトマト鍋は食べたことがありますか？
You can try various types of food in Singapore. Just for steamboat alone, there's already a very big variety of steamboat soup that one can try. There's like 'Sichuan soup', 'Herbal soup', etc... However, have anyone out there tried 'Japanese Curry soup' or 'Tomato soup' before?

「濃厚カレー鍋放題セート」 厨人はこのカレー鍋にたくさん野菜と豚肉を入れています。 ウェイターはその鍋を卓上電磁調理器の上に置いています。 ５分後、カレーのいい匂いがありますよ。 １５～２０分後、すべての料理を食べられます。 鍋に少し材料を出して、皿に置きます。味がとても美味いですね。 'Thick Japanese Curry Steamboat Buffet' The chef has added lots of pork and vegetables into the pot. And the waiter have place the pot on a mini induction stove. You will be getting a nice curry smell after 5 minutes and you can start digging into the food after 15-20 minutes of waiting. You can slowly scoop out some of the ingredients and add it to your plate and the taste of it is fantastic. :D

実はね、このレストランの優しいウェイターさんは色々なソース を貰います。しかし、柚子ソースよりカレーの味の方が大好きです。 濃厚の質感といい、甘い味といい、素晴らしいカレーですね。 Actually, the nice waiter has also prepared two bowls of sauces for me. However, as compared to the taste of the curry, the taste of the 'Yuzu' sauce isn't fantastic enough. And I really like the thick texture and the nice fragrance and taste of the curry.

そのカレーと飯がよく似合いと思います。とても楽しいです。 あそこの料理が大好きですね。もう一度行きたいです。 そこで、様々な和食以外、お酒とか、ビールとか、 飲み物の選択が多いですね。面白いですね。 And the if you have gone for the 'Curry steamboat', you should really order a bowl of rice too. The curry can really blend with the taste of the curry nicely. In fact, after giving it a first try, I don't might giving it a second shot again. :P By the way, besides serving various types of Japanese food, They also have a wide selection of beverages. There's Japanese Sake, Beer, etc... And the beverages menu looks pretty interesting to me.
