足りない。。。 / Not enough...

足りないものは何ですか？それは胃の容量です。実は数ヶ月前に友達と一緒にカラオケに行って、その後食事しに行きました。。。
What is not enough? That would be the size of our stomach. Actually, we had a Karaoke session a few months ago. After that, we decided to settle our dinner at a place nearby...

最後の選択はそちです。 そのバイキングレストランの名前は「Kiseki」です。 店所は「Orchard Central」というデパートの8階です。 We ended up choosing this. The name of this 'Japanese Buffet Restaurant' would be 'Kiseki'. It's located on level 8 of 'Orchard Central'.

そこで料理の選択が多いですね。 The wide selection of food over here is worth a very big (+).

たとえば「冷やし海鮮」とか、 For example, there's 'Chilled Seafood',

「揚げ物」とか、 'fried small bites',

「デザート」とか、「果物」とか、選択がいっぱいです。 「豆乳」もありますよ！！！ 'Dessert', 'Fruits', etc... They even have 'Soy Milk' over here too.

「飲み物」さえ お茶とか、コーヒーとか、ジュースとか、 ソフトドリンクとか、選択が多いですね。 Even the 'beverages' selection over here can be pretty amazing. There's 'Tea', 'Coffee', 'Juices', 'Soft Drinks', etc...

。。。しかし、机はちょっと小さいですね。 四人に対して、机の面積が全然足りないです。 でもね、おでんとか、餃子とか、鍋とか、様々な料理がありますよ。 とにかく、料理の味があまり素晴らしくないけど、種類が多いし、 大満足です。不足の点は僕たちの胃の容量です。 もし人類は二つの胃があったら、自由に換えられて、 それは良いと思います。 ...However, the tables here are slightly a bit too small for the 4 of us. But 1 thing that I would like to compliment would be the choices over here. There's 'Oden'(Boiled ingredients served in a broth), 'Gyoza'(Dumplings), 'Hot Pot', etc... In other words, though the food over here isn't super fantastic, but there's lots of choices for you to choose, which is pretty satisfying. The biggest weakness would be the size of our stomach isn't big enough to outbeat all the different choices. Isn't it great if a human being can have 2 interchangeable stomachs, then you would have more than enough space to give all the different interesting food options out there a good try? 注：そのレストランのサービスが良いと思います。 僕たちは十時ほど水を注文して、ウエーターさんが近くのコンビに へ行って、水を買いました。それはほんまにいいサービスですね。 Note: I personally find the service of this restaurant to be pretty good. When we were placing an order for a glasses of water after 10pm, the waiter actually went down and bought us bottles of water for free, which is a pretty rare sight nowadays.

しゃぶしゃぶ / Shabu Shabu

僕は「Steamboat」という料理が大好きです。その料理と日本の「しゃぶしゃぶ」がだいたい同じです。大きい鍋に様々な材料を入れて、炊きます。実はね、僕は数年前から、メイドの「しゃぶしゃぶ」レストランで来た後、日本の「しゃぶしゃぶ」が好きになっていました。今日は他の「しゃぶしゃぶ」レストランを紹介します。
I love to eat steamboat and it is pretty much similar to the Infamous Japanese dish 'Shabu Shabu'. In fact, my passion for 'Shabu Shabu' have grown ever since I have eaten 'Shabu Shabu' at this Japanese Maid restaurant back then. And 'Shabu Shabu' will be the main topic today. :D

寿司 このレストランで小さい鰻丼と寿司バーがあります。 僕はそこの鰻丼を食べてみました。 碗に少しご飯と鰻と卵とキュウリがあり、それは 暑い天気のとても人気の薬/料理です。ｲｲﾈ♪d('∀'ｏ) 'Sushi' They have set aside this small little corner for 'Sushi' and dishes like mini 'Japanese Eel Rice Bowl'. I have given the mini 'Rice Bowl' a try and by adding ingredients like 'Japanese Eel', 'Egg' and Cucumbers inside the rice bowl, this is definitely one of the best antidoteｓ/dishes for a crazily hot day.

なぜ僕は日本の「しゃぶしゃぶ」が好きですか？ 理由の一つは「肉が薄い」です。 このレストランで、客様が牛肉や豚肉や鶏肉を注文した後、 ウェイターが黒いトレイをもらいます。 それにたくさん薄い肉があります。 厚い肉より薄い肉の調理時間がもっと短いです。 それで、浪費せずに、たくさん肉を食べられます。 その上、色々なソースと一緒に食べます。 好きなコンビを探します。(∩´∀｀)∩ｽﾝﾊﾞﾗｽｨ♪ So why do I love 'Shabu Shabu'? One of the main reasons will be the thin slices of meat. After you place your orders for 'Beef', 'Pork' and 'Chicken', the waiter will pass you trays of sliced thin meat. So what's so great about the thin slices of meat? Well basically, the time required to cook the meat is pretty short and you can reduce the amount of food wastage and eat more meat. Furthermore, you can also mix and match all the various types of sauces and formulate one that can really fit the taste of the meat best.

肉以外、様々な材料もあります。 野菜とか、麺とか、シーフードとか、様々な選択があります。 自分の特別の「野菜シーフードスペシャルラーメン」を作れます。 ワァ──o(｡´･∀･｀｡)o──ィ♪ （しかし、肉の選択が少ないです。 羊肉とか、魚肉とか、他の肉が欲しいです。） Besides for meat, they also have several other types of ingredients too. There's vegetables, noodles and all sorts of seafood. In fact, you can create your own type of 'Special Vegetables Seafood Ramen'. (However, it would be great if they can throw in several other types types of meat like 'Mutton', 'Fish', etc... )

先日、「豚骨」スープ（左）と 季節限定の「あさり鶏」スープ（右）を選んでいました。。。 ごめんなさい。鹹い「豚骨」スープの元の色は黄色です。 しかし、たくさん牛肉を入れた後。。。茶色になりました。 でもね、「あさり鶏」スープは濃い鶏油に付けて、 あさりの香りがあって、超美味いです。 ここで「カレーチキン」スープとか、「すきやき」スープとか、 「トマト」スープとか、色々なスープがあります。 We have chosen the 'Pork Bone Broth'(left) and the 'Clams + Chicken Broth'(Right) that day.By the way, the 'Pork Bone Broth' started off with a yellowish colour but after adding a massive slices of 'Beef' it ended up to be 'Brownish'. As for the 'Clams + Chicken Broth', it comes with a thick layer of chicken oil and the nice fragrance of clams, which makes it very yummy. They also have soups like 'Curry Chicken', 'Sukiyaki' and even 'Tomato' over here too.

ここで涼しいアイスクリームもあります。 これはここでたくさん熱い材料を食べた後、 一番人気の「薬」です。ｷﾗ――( ☆ω☆)――ﾝ They also provide 'Ice Cream' over here too. After all that eating, this would definitely works as a great antidote. :P

シンガポールの「大戸屋」 / Ootoya in Singapore

数週間前に、突然、豚カツと牡蠣を食べたいです。だから、「Orchard Central」というデパートへ行きました。しかし、その日は水曜日です。だから、「とん吉」の外で、長い待ち行列があります。結局、他の和食レストランに和食を食べに行きました。以下は僕の晩御飯です。
A few weeks ago, I suddenly have the urge for Japanese Katsu and Oysters. Therefore, I decided to make the trip down to 'Orchard Central'. However, that's a Wednesday and due to the promotion at 'Tonkichi' every Wednesday, the queue outside 'Tonkichi' every Wednesday will always ended up to be pretty long. In the end, I decided to give the other Japanese restaurants nearby a try instead.

「チキンカツとじ重セット」 ここのチキンカツがカリカリだし、美味いです。 それで、周りの卵がほくほくだし、全然鹹くないです。 だから、カツ、玉ねぎ、ご飯を一緒に口に入れて、 一瞬でとても幸せになりました。美味すぎです。 美味いチキンカツと比べて、セットの副菜と味噌スープの味は普通です。 （しかし、ここのキチンカツより「とん吉」のカツの 味と質のレベルのほうが高いです。） 'Chicken Katsutoji Jyuu Set' The 'Chicken Katsu' over here are pretty crunchy and delicious. And the fried egg that's covering the 'Katsu' aren't soggy and aren't too salty. Therefore, as and when you took a piece of 'Katsu', a bit of onions and a bit of rice into your mouth, you will experience a sudden sense of happiness. As compared to the 'Katsu', the other dishes that come with the set meal are pretty ordinary. (By the way, in terms of the taste and the texture, I still think that 'Tonkichi' still serve the best 'Tonkatsu' in Singapore.)

「あさりせいろ」 ご飯、野菜、椎茸、浅蜊を一緒に蒸籠に入れて、蒸し料理です。 普通の炒飯よりこの料理の味のほうが豊富だし、ご飯が柔らかいし、 美味いです。(ﾟдﾟ)ｳ-(ﾟДﾟ)ﾏｰ(ﾟAﾟ)ｲ-…ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ…ｿﾞｫｫｫｫｫ!!!! です。 その上、そこに、たくさん新鮮な材を利用して、いいですね。(≧∇≦)b ですね。 （しかし、残念だ。その店で牡蠣せいろがありません。牡蠣を食べたいです。。。） 'Asari Seiro' Pretty much the same way how 'Dim Sum' was prepared, the chef had thrown ingredients like 'rice', 'vegetables', 'mushrooms', 'clams' into the 'Dim Sum' basket and steam them together. The final product has a pretty exciting and delicious taste as compared to an ordinary 'fried rice'. Besides for the taste, the rice were pretty soft too and the chef has also added a generous portion of ingredients into this dish. (Too bad they didn't have a similar dish that was made out of 'Oysters'. I seriously would like to give it a try.)
