。。? / A Mount Fuji that can be eaten....?

I managed to conquer Mount Fuji a few weeks ago. However, that isn't the first Mount Fuji that I have conquered. The first Mount Fuji that I have conquered a few months back was...

'Mount Fuji'(冨士さん)
This would be a Mount Fuji that anyone can conquer.
The top is covered with a brown colored chestnut flavored cream.
The base is made out of a few slices of chocolate Chiffon Cake,
chestnut and cream. In fact, this would my first go with a
'Chestnut flavored Cake'.
Mumching... Munching... Munching...
The overall texture is pretty good and on top of that the nice
mix of both bitter and sweet taste just makes it better and better.

If you don't have the courage to climb 'Mount Fuji', you can always
give the challenge over here a try first. :D

This is wrapped in a fluffy layer of pancake and filled with
mangoes and cream. It's pretty sweet and tasty, but the price and
the size of this is kinda... In fact, I personally find the
'Mount Fuji' far more interesting than this.

Japanese Sweets

Have you tried a Japanese Sweet or Cake before? And are you madly in love with a particular type of Japanese sweets? And do you wish to get it in Singapore?

You can get hold of the various types of Japanese 'Kit Kat'
chocolates over here. Similarly, they are also selling
some other infamous sweets such as 'Tokyo Banana',
'Shiroi Koibito', etc... On top of that, this shop is also
providing pre-order services too. So if you suddenly have a
urge to buy 10 boxes of 'Tokyo Banana', you know where to get
them now. :P (However the price of the Japanese sweets that
they are selling over here is slightly a bit too costly, but
for the sake of the delicious Japanese sweets...)

Ramen for a horse?

If I'm not mistaken, I have not eaten a bowl of Japanese Ramen ever since I have returned from my trip to Japan. Therefore, I have decided to give one of the newer Japanese Ramen Shop a try last weekend.

'Ajitama Uma Ramen'
The Ramen has indeed lives up to its reputation of being a 'Saikou
Noukou' Ramen. ('Saikou Noukou' means super rich in Japanese.)
The soup of the Ramen were super rich and at the same time not
too salty. Besides for the soup, the delicious bowl of Ramen
also comes with ingredients like the thinner type of noodles,
bamboo shoots, roasted pork fillet, flavoured egg and spring onions,
etc. (As for myself, I love Ramen that comes with the thinner type
of noodles.) However, although the taste of the roasted pork fillet
are pretty good, but the size of it can be rather disappointing.
It's simply not big enough to satisfy all my taste buds.

Furthermore, the standard of the flavoured egg that comes with
the Ramen is pretty high. The brown coloured egg is covered
with white colour on the inside and the egg yolk is half boiled
and the taste of it is perfect. This is simply too amazing.

Thanks for finishing everything.

The Spirit of 'Bari-Uma'.

The name of this Japanese Ramen shop would be 'Bari Uma Ramen'.

New Year's Eve

Though this is slightly a bit too late, but how did you spend your 2013 New Year's Eve? In fact...

for a start, I went to my favourite Buckwheat Noodles restaurant in
Kyoto, Japan on the New Year's Eve of 2013.
The name of this restaurant would be 'Honke Owariya'.
(In fact, I was eating a rectangular shaped tidbit, also known as
'Soba Ita', which is made from Buckwheat Noodles right now.
I was so madly in love with it that I could easily finish a box of
it within an hour. By the way, each box contains 50 pieces of 'Soba Ita'.)

'Nishin Soba'
This is indeed an infamous Buckwheat Noodles restaurant.
The Buckwheat Noodles over here are pretty soft and relatively cheap.
And the ingredients are pretty fresh and deliciously good.
In fact, after giving this restaurant a try, it have greatly
increased my passion for Buckwheat Noodles.

However, why did the Japanese have the custom
of eating Buckwheat Noodles on New Year's Eve?
There's a Japanese saying that states that by eating the Buckwheat
Noodles that are pretty thin and long on New Year's Eve symbolises longevity.

After having a delicious meal, I decided to
do a bit of window shopping follow up with...
the task of queueing up outside 'Kodai-Ji' temple. This queue is actually
meant for the first 108 people to get a chance to strike the Night-watch
bell of the temple on New Year's Eve.

From 11pm onwards, those that were selected one after the other
will step forward and strike the Night-watch bell once.

Why did they struck the Night-watch bell 108 times?
According to Buddhism, 108 symbolises the number of
desires that trouble the body and soul of a person.
Therefore by striking the bell 108 times symbolise
the process of removing all your desires and cleanse
your body and soul.

A serious looking me...?

Come In to Hokkaidō?

Few weeks ago, I'm suppose to meet my friends at 'Clarke Quay', but due to the hot weather, I decided to grab some ice cream before I meet them. Therefore, I decided to pay a visit to 'Liang Court'...

'Melon and Vanilla Ice Cream'
The taste for the vanilla ice cream is pretty much the same
else where, but the taste for the Melon ice cream is pretty strong.
On top of that, the texture of the ice cream is pretty much
similar to the Japanese style 'shaved ice'. (≧∇≦)b
(Note: Speaking of Melon, do you know that a Melon in Japan
or from Japan can cost as much as S$50?)

「Liang Court」
The name of the shop will be 'Come In Hokkaidō'. You can find
all sorts of infamous sweets and biscuits from Hokkaidō over there.
By the way, this shop is located inside the compound of 'Meidiya'
Singapore, which is located in 'Liang Court'.

Currently, 'AKB48' would most likely be one of the most famous female idol groups in Japan. As per today, there have up to 57 formal members, which is the total number of people in team A, team K, team B and team 4. On top of the number of formal members that the group currently has, they also have a number of aspiring members, known as the 'Kenkyuusei' or trainees. Therefore, with the number of members that the group currently has, I personally felt that it is absolutely impossible for an average person to memorise the names of all the members of 'AKB48'. However, one would probably have heard of the names of some of the members before. Ex: Atsuko Maeda, Yuuko Ooshiima... etc. (In fact, I could only memorise the names of 2 members only... :P)

The photos in the above were taken outside the 'AKB48' Official shop.
One could easily find all sorts of products that comes with various kinds
of 'AKB48' design. Ex: T-shirts, Posters, mug, etc...
(Just as I expected, all the posters of 'Atsuko Maeda' and 'Yuuko Ooshiima'
were out of stock. They were indeed the infamous members of 'AKB48'.)

'AKB48' Official shop is located on the 2nd floor of '*scape' shopping mall.
and...

'AKB48' Cafe is located on the 3rd floor.

The above shows the interior of 'AKB48' Cafe.
Besides for the continuous broadcasting of 'AKB48' performances,
the glass panels and walls were decorated with photos of 'AKB48'.
This is indeed a cafe specially built for 'AKB48' fans.

The following would be my interests... food~~~!!!

The above would be 'Shouga Yaki Set', which is also known as
'Fried Pork with Ginger Sauce' set.
In fact, this is my first encounter with a set meal that comes with
'Fried Pork' and 'Ginger Sauce'. Looks pretty interesting... Don't you agree?
Note: that the taste of the Ginger sauce is pretty strong, so take my advice,
pour the sauce onto the fried pieces of pork slowly otherwise, please be
mentally prepared to bear the consequences.

The above would be the 'AKB48 Ice Cream Set'.
The flavours of the ice cream that were given here are
'Strawberry', 'Matcha' and 'Ocean'.
I love the taste of the 'Ocean' ice cream very much. :D
In fact, the colours used in this Ice Cream set were pretty
much similar to the team colours of 'AKB48'.
The team colour of 'Team A' would be 'Pink' (Strawberry Ice Cream),
The team colour of 'Team K' would be 'Green' (Matcha Ice Cream),
The team colour of 'Team B' would be 'Blue' (Ocean Ice Cream) and
The team colour of 'Team 4' would be 'Yellow' (Banana slices).
Besides for the beautiful colours that you are getting,
the Ice Cream set was pretty delicious.
Note: Based on the texture and the taste of the Ice Cream, there is
a possibility that the chef might have made the Ice Cream himself.

To Ji - Kyoto World Cultural Heritage

A lot of Pagodas was built in the City of Kyoto. For example, Yasaka Pagoda situated in Higashi Yama, there's a Pagoda in temples like Daigo Ji and Ninna Ji... etc. However, the most famous Pagoda in Kyoto should be the Pagoda situated within the compound of 'To Ji'.

The following are photos taken in 'To Ji':
The Pagoda was probably the most famous structure that was built in 'To Ji'.
Why do I say so?
This is because the Pagoda itself was 55 metres in height and at the same time was currently holding the position of being the highest architecture built by wood within Japan.
(Whahahaha.... I managed to step into the Pagoda during my visit to 'To Ji' back then.
The view within the Pagoda was spectacular.
However, I was pretty disappointed that photo taking wasn't allowed inside.)

'Fu Ni Sakura'
When I was making my way to 'To Ji', the Sakura flower haven't started blooming.
However, looking at the size of the Sakura tree,
the sight will definitely be a magnificent one when the flowers started blooming.

Views within the compounds of 'To Ji'.

During the 21st of every month, a flea market known as 'Gu Ho Shi' will be held within the compound of 'To Ji'. Most of the stalls will operate from 8am in the morning to 4pm in the afternoon. There are more than 700 stalls within 'Gu Ho Shi'. Things that you can buy here includes items like daily accessories, clothings, antiques, lacquerware, food... etc. The chances of asking and bargaining/getting an item at a lower price at this flea market was pretty high also. Doesn't it sounds interesting?
