天空の爆弾 / The Atomic Bomb from the sky

空にキラキラ星がいっぱいです。しかし、去年に空から「爆弾」を落としました。だから、「爆弾」を食べに行きました。。。
The sky is full of glittering stars. However, an 'Atomic Bomb' has dropped from the sky last year. Therefore, I decided to give it a good try.

僕の告白：普通の人に比べて、僕のお腹の容量がちょっと大きいです。 だから無料ご飯追加サービスのレストランが大好きです。 故に「爆弾」を食べるために、ここに行きました。 Here's my confession: My appetite is slightly bigger as compared to a normal human being. Therefore I love restaurants that provides unlimited portions of rice at no extra costs. Therefore for the sake of the 'Atomic Bomb', I decided to give this place a good try.

このレストランで、ご飯以外キャベツも無料追加を出来ますよ。ｲｲﾈ♪d('∀'ｏ) 無料ご飯とキャベツ追加。。。そうです。これはとんかつレストランです。 Over here, besides for the unlimited free flow of rice, you can also get shredded cabbages for free too. But wait, unlimited free flow of rice and shredded cabbages, isn't that one of the characteristics of a Japanese 'Tonkatsu'(breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet) restaurant.

それだから、机の上でキャベツの胡麻ソース、とんかつソース、藻塩があります。 That's probably why, they are providing the 'Sesame Sauce' for the cabbages, 'Tonkatsu Sauce' and 'Seaweed Salt' on all the tables.

メニューに半分以上の定食は「かつ」があります。 これは「特選ロースかつ膳」です。 More than half of the items that are listed on the menu comes with with a breaded deep fried cutlet. The above shows 'Special Pork Loin Cutlet'.

とんかつの皮があまり厚くなくて、脂濃くないです。(・∀・)ｲｲﾈ! その上、甘い味が最高です。(・∀・)ｲｲﾈ!! 一番大切のポイントはサクサクなとんかつです。(・∀・)ｲｲﾈMax...... The skin of the cutlet isn't too thick and at the same time isn't too oily. On top of that, the sweet taste of the loin meat is a (+). But most importantly, the chewy and crunchy meat is unforgettable.

「ピヨピヨメンチカツ」 'Piyo Piyo Minced Meat Cutlet'

これは前に指す「爆弾」という料理です。 真ん中が煮玉子みたいな玉子、玉子の回りはメンチです。 切り開けてから、乳状の卵黄がゆっくり流れて、超美味いそうですね。 コンビが面白いですね。これと普通のとんかつが全然違います。 サクサクの質感よりシコシコの質感が多いですね。味が良いと思います。 しかし、分量が足りないです。もしもう一つの「爆弾」をくれたら。。。 This would be the 'Atomic Bomb' that I have mentioned earlier. The core of this cutlet was made up of an fantastic boiled egg, pretty much similar to those that you are getting from a bowl of Japanese Ramen. And it's wrapped around a layer of minced meat and topped with the breaded skin. And as you cut open the cutlet, the creamy egg yolk started to flow out of the core, which makes it look ultra yummy. The combinations looks pretty interesting and it's pretty different from the average cutlet. Not just being crunchy, there's also a chewy sensation and the taste of it are pretty good. However, the portions are kinda small and it will be great if they can throw in an extra cutlet in the set meal.

「ジャンボロースかつ膳」 さすが「ジャンボロースかつ膳」です。 この分量は二人をご一緒に食べられます。 ここで豚かつ以外、鳥かつとか、海鮮かつとか、様々なかつも販売あります。 是非食べてみてください。ﾟ+｡ﾟ(･∀･)ﾟ｡+ﾟｲｲ!! 'Jumbo Pork Loin Cutlet' This is indeed a jumbo loin cutlet. The portion is big enough to be shared by 2 individuals. Besides for the 'Pork cutlets', they have also listed different kinds of cutlets, e.g. 'Seafood cutlets', 'Chicken Cutlets', etc. If you are hanging out nearby, do give the cutlets over here a good try. :P

シンガポールの「大戸屋」 / Ootoya in Singapore

数週間前に、突然、豚カツと牡蠣を食べたいです。だから、「Orchard Central」というデパートへ行きました。しかし、その日は水曜日です。だから、「とん吉」の外で、長い待ち行列があります。結局、他の和食レストランに和食を食べに行きました。以下は僕の晩御飯です。
A few weeks ago, I suddenly have the urge for Japanese Katsu and Oysters. Therefore, I decided to make the trip down to 'Orchard Central'. However, that's a Wednesday and due to the promotion at 'Tonkichi' every Wednesday, the queue outside 'Tonkichi' every Wednesday will always ended up to be pretty long. In the end, I decided to give the other Japanese restaurants nearby a try instead.

「チキンカツとじ重セット」 ここのチキンカツがカリカリだし、美味いです。 それで、周りの卵がほくほくだし、全然鹹くないです。 だから、カツ、玉ねぎ、ご飯を一緒に口に入れて、 一瞬でとても幸せになりました。美味すぎです。 美味いチキンカツと比べて、セットの副菜と味噌スープの味は普通です。 （しかし、ここのキチンカツより「とん吉」のカツの 味と質のレベルのほうが高いです。） 'Chicken Katsutoji Jyuu Set' The 'Chicken Katsu' over here are pretty crunchy and delicious. And the fried egg that's covering the 'Katsu' aren't soggy and aren't too salty. Therefore, as and when you took a piece of 'Katsu', a bit of onions and a bit of rice into your mouth, you will experience a sudden sense of happiness. As compared to the 'Katsu', the other dishes that come with the set meal are pretty ordinary. (By the way, in terms of the taste and the texture, I still think that 'Tonkichi' still serve the best 'Tonkatsu' in Singapore.)

「あさりせいろ」 ご飯、野菜、椎茸、浅蜊を一緒に蒸籠に入れて、蒸し料理です。 普通の炒飯よりこの料理の味のほうが豊富だし、ご飯が柔らかいし、 美味いです。(ﾟдﾟ)ｳ-(ﾟДﾟ)ﾏｰ(ﾟAﾟ)ｲ-…ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ…ｿﾞｫｫｫｫｫ!!!! です。 その上、そこに、たくさん新鮮な材を利用して、いいですね。(≧∇≦)b ですね。 （しかし、残念だ。その店で牡蠣せいろがありません。牡蠣を食べたいです。。。） 'Asari Seiro' Pretty much the same way how 'Dim Sum' was prepared, the chef had thrown ingredients like 'rice', 'vegetables', 'mushrooms', 'clams' into the 'Dim Sum' basket and steam them together. The final product has a pretty exciting and delicious taste as compared to an ordinary 'fried rice'. Besides for the taste, the rice were pretty soft too and the chef has also added a generous portion of ingredients into this dish. (Too bad they didn't have a similar dish that was made out of 'Oysters'. I seriously would like to give it a try.)

そうですね。レストランの名前は「大戸屋」です。 これはシンガポールの「Orchard Central」の8階の「大戸屋」支店です。 That's right. The name of this Japanese restaurant would be 'Ootoya'. This would be one of the Singapore branches that is located on level 8 of 'Orchard Central' shopping mall.

ゴーゴーカレーは廃業していました！！！/ Go Go Curry have wind up their business!!!

最近、たぶん僕は成長中、だから晩御飯にたくさん料理を食べていました。（可笑しいじゃない？）とにかく、昨日お腹が空いて、たくさん料理を食べたくて、ゴーゴーカレーに行ってきます。しかし、ゴーゴーカレーは廃業していました。新しいカレーレストランがチェンジしていましたぞ。だから、今日は新しいカレーレストランを紹介しています。
Probably I'm undergoing the process of growing up, therefore I have been eating a lot of food for dinner. (Which is something that I have been doing most of the time... ==) Either ways, since I'm pretty hungry yesterday, therefore I decided to have lots of food for dinner. Hence 'Go Go Curry' would be the best choice. However, it seems that 'Go Go Curry' have wind up their business and it was replaced by a new Curry restaurant and it seems that all the 'Go Go Curry' restaurant have been replaced by the same restaurant.

モンスターコンボカレー 以上は二人分の「モンスターコンボカレー」です。ほんまにどでかいです。 それにサラダとか、焼肉とか、フライエビとか、魚かつとか、 とんかつとか様々な材料があります。その上、厚いカレーがあります。 （そのレストランで、自分のカレーの辛さは5段階で選べます。 辛い料理が大好きな僕は一番辛い段階を選べました。） たぶん、僕は昔からたくさん辛い料理を食べていました。 だから、あそこのカレーは全然辛くないらしいです。 'Monster Combo Curry' The above shows the 'Monster Combo Curry', which is meant for 2, was pretty big indeed. Ingredients like salad, 'Yakiniku'(Fried Meat), Deep Fried Prawns, Fish fillet, Pork Cutlet, etc... was included in it. (You will be given the option to choose the spicy level of the curry that you can include in your curry rice. Been a big fan of spicy food, I will just go with the spiciest level. :P) Probably, I have been eating a lot of spicy food since I was a kid, therefore I personally thinks that this isn't spicy enough. :P

ゴーゴーカレーの「Grand Slam」よりその「モンスターコンボカレー」 のほうが大きいし、美味いです。 しかし、ゴーゴーカレーのカレーのほう厚いし、安いです。 そこで「モンスターコンボカレー」以外、牛肉とか、 てんぷらとか、チーズとか、いろいろなカレー料理もあります。 さて、もし皆さんは自分のお腹は自信があったら、 そこで「モンスターコンボカレー」を挑戦してください。 As compared to the 'Grand Slam' of 'Go Go Curry', I think that this is much more bigger and much more delicious. However the curry of 'Go Go Curry' are much more thicker and they are much more cheaper. ==" Besides for the 'Monster Combo Curry', they also prepare and sell beef curry, Tempura Curry, Cheese Curry, etc... all sorts of curries. Either ways, if you are think that you can eat a lot, you probably might want to give the 'Monster Combo Curry' a try.

実は僕は仙人掌を食べたことがありません。しかし、「さぼてん」という和食レストランへ行ったことがあります。そのレストランの一番人気な料理は。。。

（実はね、あそこのメニューの大部分のアイテムはかつ料理です。例えば：とんかつとか、
かつサンドイッチとか、とんかつカレーとか、様々なかつ料理もありますよ。）
all sorts of deep fried cutlets.
(In fact, most of the items on their menu comes with a deep
fried cutlet or two. For example: 'Tonkatsu', a.k.a deep
fried pork cutlet, cutlet sandwich, cutlet curry, etc...)

僕はお腹がペコペコの時、一番大好きな選択はとんかつセットです。しかし、今日は
「とんきち」の「とんきちデイ」じゃなくて、日曜日です。だから、他のレストランへ
とんかつセットを食べてみました。以上は「さぼてん」のテーブルセッティングです。
テーブルの上で、柚子ソースとサラダソースととんかつソースがあります。
When my stomach is growling like crazy, my favourite choice
of food would be 'Tonkatsu'. However, today isn't a 'Tonkichi
Day' at 'Tonkichi', therefore I decided to try 'Tonkatsu' set
at a different restaurant. The above shows the table setting
of the restaurant. On each and every table, there's Citrus
sauce and salad dressing for the Cabbage and the typical
'Tonkatsu' sauce.

どうしてお腹がペコペコの時、とんかつセットは一番大好きな選択ですか？ 日本だけでなく、シンガポールのとんかつ販売レストランでご飯とお茶と キャベツも無料で無限に追加することができます。 いい(≧∇≦)b その上、「さぼてん」で味噌スープも無料で無限に追加することができます。 （；´Д`）ｽﾊﾞﾗｽｨ ...ﾊｧﾊｧ （僕は大食いの人です。昔は、お腹がペコペコの時、食事にご飯を二回 以上を追加することがあります。ｲﾔ-----(*ﾟ∀ﾟ*)-----ﾝ!!!! ） Why do I choose 'Tonkatsu' set meal over all the other delicacies when I'm hungry? This is because not just in Japan, local restaurants serving 'Tonkatsu' set meal also practice the same idea of providing unlimited free flow of Rice, Cabbage and Tea whenever you place an order for a 'Tonkatsu' set meal. (≧∇≦)b On top of the above, at 'Saboten', they have also provided unlimited free flow of Miso soup. (≧∇≦)b (I have to admit that I'm a glutton. In the past, when I'm super hungry, I tend to go for the 3rd serving of rice. :P)

これは今日の晩御飯です。 ロースとんかつとハタかつセットです。ハタかつセットにハタかつ以外、 蝦かつと蟹コロッケかつも付きます。材料構わず、全部のかつはカリカリ し、美味いです。(≧∇≦)b （ついご飯を二回を追加してしまいました。＝＝””””””） しかし、あそこは牡蠣かつがありません。残念です。 Shown in the above, would be the main course of the day. 'Tonkatsu' set and Garoupa set. By the way, the Garoupa set also comes with deep fried prawn and crab croquette too. Regardless of the ingredients, all the cutlets are pretty crispy and delicious.(≧∇≦)b (Unknowingly, I'm already on my 3rd bowl of rice.＝＝””””””) Too bad, They don't have deep fried Oyster on their menu, which is one of my favourite item for deep fried food.

「さぼてん」のかつセットに抹茶アイスクリームを付きます。
味は普通だったけど、無料なのに、必ず食べ切りました。
（これは僕の原則です。食べ物の浪費が大嫌いです。）
Each of the set meal that you have ordered at 'Saboten',
comes with a free Green Tea Ice Cream. Although the taste is
pretty normal and despite being free, I have tried to finish it.
(This is one of the principles in my life, not to waste food.)

豚カツ / Tonkatsu

もし「豚カツ」が食べたくて、飯が食べたくなくて、それはできますか？その質問の答えは「できる」です。実はね。シンガポールで普通の「豚カツ」セットと「豚カツ」丼以外、「豚カツ」サンドイッチとか、「豚カツ」ラーメンとか、「豚カツ」そばとか、様々な料理もあります。だから、今日の主題は「豚カツ」サンドイッチです。:D
If I want to eat 'Tonkatsu', but I don't want to have it with rice, will that be possible? The answer to the question would be 'Yes'. In fact, in Singapore, besides for 'Tonkatsu' sets that comes with rice, you can also get dishes like 'Tonkatsu' sandwiches, 'Tonkatsu' Ramen, 'Tonkatsu' Soba... etc.
Therefore, the main topic this week would be 'Tonkatsu' sandwiches. :D

「豚カツ」サンドイッチ これと洋食の「ハムサンドイッチ」の概念は大体同じです。 しかし、「ハム」より「豚カツ」のほうが硬いし、味も重いし、美味いでしょう。 その上、「豚カツ」はカリカリでしょう。(*^ーﾟ)b ｸﾞｯｼﾞｮﾌﾞ!! （しかし、僕にとって以上の「豚カツ」サンドイッチの量がちょっと足りないんです。 満足できませませんよ。やはり、「豚カツ」セットを食べたほうがいいですね？） 'Tonkatsu Sandwiches' The concept behind this 'Tonkatsu Sandwiches' is more or less similar to the 'Ham sandwiches' that some of us have been eating daily. However, as compared to the thin slices of 'Ham' that we are getting, the 'Tonkatsu' are more more thicker, the taste are much more heavier and more delicious. And on top of the points listed in the above, the crunchy touch of the 'Tonkatsu' is something that the thin slices of 'Ham' would never have.:D (However, the portion that I'm getting can't satisfy my hunger. Probably only the normal 'Tonkatsu' set can satisfy my hunger.)

「とん吉」限定の「ジャンボかつ」/ Tonkichi - Jumbo Katsu for limited time only

先日、インタネットに「とん吉」のウェブサイトで、「ジャンボかつ」を限定復活のプロモーションを見た後、突然に「豚カツ」を食べたいです。だから、先週末時間があったので、最初の「とん吉」店、高島屋分店で食事を食べに行きました。
A few days ago, according to the website of &aposTonkichi', they are having a limited time promotion for the &aposJumbo Tonkatsu'. After I found out about the promotion, I suddenly have the urge to eat 'Tonkatsu'. Therefore, as I had some spare time during last weekend, I decided to have my dinner at 'Tonkichi' branch located inside 'Takashimaya', which was the first 'Tonkichi' store located in Singapore also.. Yummy Yummy.

「ジャンボかつ」セット 普通のとんかつと比べるとき、ほんまに「ジャンボ」ですよ。 とんかつは様々な特別のソースと一緒に食べる時が美味いです。 とん汁も美味しいです。御飯を三杯も足りませんでした。 僕は、御飯を四杯を食べた後、「ジャンボかつ」セットやっと食べ終わりました。 食べ過ぎて、満足しました。XD 'Jumbo Katsu' Set Meal Comparing to the normal 'Tonkatsu', this is really a 'Jumbo Tonkatsu'. And it taste heavenly when you dipped slices of 'Tonkatsu' with the various kinds of sauces that was given with the set meal. The soup that comes with the set meal was so delicious that 3 bowls of rice was not enough for me to finish all the dishes given in this set meal. In the end I had 4 bowls of rice and despite eating too much food for a dinner, the food were delicious and satisfying. XD
